Eric has some great ideas. Also, why not have a book fair where different authors are featured, This way AR can be slipped in along with more contemporary ones.
In NZ, all schoolchildren go away on school camps each year. If this happens where you are, AR would be ideal as a lead-in to the camps. Read extracts such as how to light fires, semaphone & morse, and fishing.
And of course sailing camps would be ideal if they can be arranged. Coming up to the America's Cup, there is lots of information which would make the subject topical, and AR's books bring it into the realm's of reality for kids, rather than just big business.
