I go along with Dave. The links between S&A and SD are strong, and the second leads naturally from the first. PD is a standalone that can be read any time.
But if you do read SD next, it might be useful if you explained to the Sprog that PD himself was a character invented by Titty during the intervening period, and how he figured in his own story that the children invented, to be read later.
