As the Coniston fells have been opened the Midlands Regional Cmmttee had a brief discussion on whether the 70th anniversary climb of Kanchenjunga should go ahead on August 11.
Taking into account authenticity and the fact that a number of us wanted to do the climb and couldn't make the Northern Region Matterhorn centenary on the 4 th we have decided to go ahead with this trip. Anyone who wishes to join us will be very welcome.
Plan is to camp at Coniston Hall on Friday 10 and set off from there at about 10 the following morning by a variety of routes depending on fitness etc of the party.
Perhaps a canoe trip to Wildcat (or Wildact) Island on the Sunday.
