Out of curiosity, who are AR’s literary trustees; the copyright of “Racundra’s Third Cruise” would still be held by them of course (not complaining, just interested). Unless they have sold the rights, like the heirs of the Rev. .... who wrote “Thomas the Tank Engine”.

Occasionally holders of letters that they have received from someone now dead think that they have the copyright of the letters (or at least think that they can publish them) ! The ownership of publishing rights makes it difficult for unauthorised or unofficial biographers, particularly “knocking” ones - whether they are Kitty Kelley or Lytton Strachey ! They have to use paraphrases of anything their subject has written, instead of direct quotes.
