Bill,

Thanks for your reply to my query. It's a good idea to make a
scaleable island. I have already covered my first island with trees,
etc. and built up cliffs at the norhern end, so I hope my dimensions
are right. I navigated down the island and around it and set up a
couple of human figures at the landing place and at the secret
harbour and eveything *seemed* to be in scale. Your suggestion about
being able to design the other places mentioned in the books is
something I've been thinking about. Peter Duck's island comes to mind
(APCD includes palm trees). Also the stalking area and the loch in
Great Northern should be fun. Then, of course, you could reproduce
any literary landscape from Alice through the Looking-Glass
(chessboard)to Lord of the Rings. And what about famous battlefields?
Waterloo, Crecy, Hastings, etc. The list is endless. The more I use
this program the easier it becomes and the more ideas occur to me.
I'll look around and see if I can find a boat modelling program as
you suggested.

Cheers,

John
