The ARC went on a sailing cruise on the 19th-21st of July, around the Izu Peninsula, a very beautiful part of Japan. We sailed on board the TSUBAME-GO or Swallow, skippered by Omori-san, whom we called Sencho [Captain]. We went on sevearal short cruises but always returned to port to sleep. We trolled for a fish and anchored for lunch in Otago [same name as my home port in New Zealand :-) ]
Another highlight was the frequent visits to be boiled alive by some naked canibal Savages [well, hot spring spas]. A rather new experience for this anglo-saxon more accustomed to a more private bathing habit. I saw Swallows [ie the birds] for the first time [you dont get em in New Zealand] so the weekend especially rounded off for this Ransomite.
We got stuick in heavy traffic on the way home, too many natives all riding their chariots at once :-(
