I think we can say that both Molly and Jim were born by 1891 at the latest, as they both have memories of the Great Frost of 1895 (Winter Holiday). However Molly's memories appear to be more detailed than Jim's, so she is probably the elder.
Also Jim says he carved "Benn Gunn" in the cave at Swallowdale "more than 30 years ago", which would place it in the last years of the 19th century. He would probably have done this before he was 10 so was probably born not much before 1890. With Molly being born slightly earlier. (She says she was last on High Topps after the invention of the the motor car - Pigeon Post)
