NBT didn't make a commercial version of the Nancy Blackett Video in NTSC. Instead I agreed to have
individual copies made from a PAL master when I got orders from TARSUS or others in NTSC countries.
This is relatively expensive to do on a copy or two per order, but at least it works. At one time
it appears that TARSUS was doing this with the 1974 S&A film before Republic brought out the U.S.
version of the film. Unfortunately that appears to not be available any longer unless one stumbles
across a leftover copy somewhere. Probably should have bought up a stock of them for prospective
TARS but we didn't.
With respect to DVD the previous commentors are quite right: the commercial standard incorporates
multiple formats for the reasons suggested; you will see this referred to on a commercial DVD as
its "Region" -- Region 1 is Canada and the US (at least) and so forth.
I have no idea just how this relates to DVD-ROM drives in Personal Computers but I presume they are also
Region-encoded.
