In Thailand, all Video players automatically adjust to PAL or NTSC even though the standard for Thailand is PAL. This is probably as a result of the huge export trade from Thailand for these products.
As regards DVD players, all the major brands make "All Region" DVD players at exactly the same price as region restricted DVD players. There are "All Region" DVD CD's also available. No one buying a Video Player or DVD player sould think of buying a region restricted one. The only region restricted ones still available in the USA or Europe are either old stock or bought as a special discount deal from some of the suppliers, if your supplier tries to sell you a region restricted set, don't touch it, Sony, Panasonic, Samsung are just a few who supply all region equipment..
