Oliver, I don't think Mr Jennings is a Ransomeite, he probably doesn't read the tarboard so he won't see your message, you may be able to write to him if you look at his web site. Good luck! I certainly agree with what you wrote about his books, I think Arthur Ransome and Paul Jennings [NB this Bulletin Board has NO connection with Paul Jennings] would have shared many thoughts about children and children's books.
