When I was a kid (about 1960) I read a great children's story about an octopus called Gully or Cully (or something similar). The octopus helped save the world by holding on to some giant ropes that hold the world together (something like lay lines) that the "baddie" had cut (for a reason I can't recall). I want to get it for my 11 year old but can't remember the author or the title. I was sure that it was by Arthur Ransome. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks, Andre Routh
