PS

Ships Baby in Japanese: Fune no aka-chan
so I suppose Ships Granny is Fune no obaa-san
Capt Flint: Furinto sencho
Nanshii, Peggii, TiTi, Roja, Susan, Jon, Burijeto or Buriji,
Mother: Okaa-san
Mrs Jackson: Jakusan Oba-san [Aunty Jackson]
Similarly Dikusan Oba-san, Dikusan Oji-san [Mr Dixon= Uncle Dixon]
Buraketto Fujin = Madame Blackett [quite a formal title I think, not just Mrs]
Ships Animals: Pori, Jibba, [thus confirming that Gibber has a soft 'g' !] Nezuko [Ratty]

Ships: Tsubame-go to Amazon-go [Swallow and Amazon]
Shiro Kuma-go [White Bear =polar bear =Sea Bear]
'go' follows all ships names, sort of like 'HMS' in the navy.
Places: Yamanekojima [Mountain Cat Island] Unoshima [Cormorant I]

Books
Swallow and Amazon [Tsubamego to Amazongo]
ie refers to the boats not the crews, the Swallows and the Amazons
Swallow's Valley
The Female Pirate's Islands
White Bear and Mysterious Birds [I like this title!]
