I've really been enjoying the latest Mixed Moss by the way; particularly those bits that add texture and depth to my other AR-related ambition (which is much less likely to be realised!) to write a movie screenplay and/or novel about AR in Russia (well mostly the Russian bits anyway, would probably start just before his first marriage and go on to around about getting Slug, but with most attention on the Revolution and adventurous treks across battle-lines and frontiers, etc.) Don't you think Merchant-Ivory or someone would just love it? Remains of the Day meets Dr. Zhivago and Reds... Sorry, got carried away - anyway, yes, I'll have a think about an article re: Ransome and Tolkien, centre it around their correspondence re: The Hobbit but extend it to their differing approaches to children's writing and to fairy-tales. Might be fun.
