ahem - assuming you're referring to caving/mine exploration - I've not been down that yet, working on it for this year. My experience of old mines in The Picos de Europa is that it's quite worrying when the rungs of old wooden ladders break.... best advice is "do try it at home" - we practice SRT from the loft hatch and down the stairwell. Hopefully a bolted rope route up the side of the house this year.
