Perhaps an even simpler answer - without going into the question of how it would sound, surely Nancy would have used Titty's full given (Christian) name in an address. I have always assumed that Titty was not that name, but we have never been told what it was. To have the pigeon addressed to Titty would have required AR to make that revelation. Perhaps he didn't want to do that - or perhaps he did not want to have to develop that part of Titty's character.
