Well Robert - I agree with you but not your example. I never thought we would manage to get Wittgenstein into any of these discussions! He argued that 2+2=5 is just community agreement, it has no truth as it is a labelling system we all use for numbers and anyone who doesn't finds themselves out of step!
To be very serious for a moment - an opinion can be invalid or not appropriate when it does attempt to deny truths. One only has to look at those who try to deny the Holocaust.
