nobody can 'play' at religion -- or if they can they offend somebody else................it would have been difficult in the extreme to do anything but avoid the topic regardless of AR's own inclinations.
in Secret Water there are: a Witch; a Wizard; Eel worship with human sacrifice; missionaries; even Israelites and Egyptians - but still, I think, no mention of Church.
