It is nigh on spring here, in northern Ontario, too. The snow at the bottom of the back garden appears to have an aluminum mast standing vertically from the snow and the mound beneath it is my all-aluminum 12 foot Petrel dinghy sitting on its launching dolly. It will be another 2 months before our Black Lab, Max and I will be sailing on our lake. Maintenance on the dinghy consists of sweeping the accumulated leaves out of the boat and, perhaps, putting a coat of paint on the tiller, the only piece of wood on the vessel.
