Today's Daily Telegraph (page 10) talks of a 15 year old boy who hopes to become the youngest person to sail across the Atlantic single handed. Seb Clover and his father will set out in identical Contessa 32 yachts from the Canary Islands in December. The winner will be the first to finish his drink in a cafe in English Harbour, Antigua 2,700 miles later.

"My mother came up with the idea," said Seb, who had initially only wanted to cross the Channel. "I really want to do it. I feel scared but I'd be stupid not to be. My mother suggested the trip, but I suppose she will worry about me, after all that's what mothers do".

Whilst, I don't think Mrs Walker would have been quite so accommodating, it is good to see that a similar spirit of adventure lives on. I wonder if Seb Clover has read WDMTGTS?
