fantasy story. That's certainly my view.
I've always found PD and ML "obviously" much more fantastic than the
others, even when I first read them as a child. They seem to me just a
more developed version of ther story that the Swallows and Amazons tell
each other about being shipwrecked during the storm near the end of S&A.
