Iroko is not so much more "politically correct" as more available at timber suppliers. The only teak to come out of Myanmar [Burma] these days is smuggled out. The Indonesians have plantations of teak growing, with some harvesting, but by the time it gets to your favourite timber yard, you've no idea where it has come from.
