Poor Dr. Dilley!
First he was maligned by me (not publicly - at least until now)
for describing an institution he formerly attended as having
"degenerated into a public school for girls". This in a Mixed Moss
article he wrote about the appropriateness of John's use of a bowline to
secure the Goblin to her mooring buoy.
Then he was verbally assailed by several readers of the above article
who took issue with his thesis.
Now this! Can the poor man do nothing right?
I was at the Toronto corroboree and enjoyed it very much; and, having
met both Adam Quinan and Robert Dilley I can report that the spirit of
Arthur Ransome is very much present in both of them and the common loons
have little to fear, at least from them.
