"The funny thing is that most Ransome fans these days are 'Native' through-and-through."

I never have smoked a pipe or worn silk/nylon stockings (I need to take up a hat again, a classy hat) and have tried to be as non-"native" as possible. I am responsible, and have continued to live as I wish. To forget those experiences and adventures - real, imagined and read -would be, to me, unthinkable. Currently, I am living out the fantasy life I have imagined since I was eleven, when I first read the Ransome saga. Another thing, we talk about "class" as being economic, the word also entails (in a slang way) a certain attitude toward life. Do we see Captain Flint (a real classy guy) in here somewhere - Mr. Ransome in thin disguise?

I have a sneaky suspicion that most Ransome fans are the same way, maybe they don't want to admit to it! They haven't lost the sense of adventure and imagination, or they wouldn't be Ransome Fans.

Gotta get back to work! To continue my fantasy life takes some money - not much, but some!
