What are your sources? I am currently working on a university dissertation on "Colonialism in Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons series" and one of my lines of argument is that Ransome was very much a man of his time, aware of its controversies and influencing events, not the isolated writer commonly found in the public imagination. Would be very interested to see the evidence that he was a Secret Agent . . . !
