(I've been re-examining the Stockholm episode again and it wasn't quite how I presented it in my last email, but my general point remains the same: he was there by courtesy of Karl Radek; of course the logical conclusion of the gentleman's comments are that Stalin was right: Radek was a traitor and exiled for good reason along with all those close Bolshevik friends of ARs whose demises he lists so movingly in his account of Lenin's funeral. I refuse to accept such a conclusion.)
