Hi everyone! I am housesitting with a fast computer and modem and thought I would surf the net. I have looked at this site once before, but things were far too slow! Two things. I recently visited the UK with another Arthur Ransome fan and we made it to lake Windemere for one day! (We had another person in tow!) but we did get to the steamboat museum and took a lake cruise. Visiting the area was one of the highlights of the trip (it was a good trip, other highlights too!) The second thing is that there will be an Arthur Ransome evening at the Vancouver, B.C. Canada main public library on the last Tuesday in September at 7:00. I know three people who will be missing a certain choir rehearsal to go! I enjoyed reading some of the messages posted here. I probably won't get to check much more as I will be back to the slow computer in a few days! Deirdre
