Lovely story of your visit to Ransome's Lakes
In 1999, I brought my wife and children from Canada to Coniston and we stayed for a couple of days at Bank Ground Farm opposite Coniston vilage, Ransome's Holly Howe and used as a location in the film you have. The bedrooms are modernised but it has a lovely front room. We visited Peel Island and the Ransome Room in Kendal. We also paid our respects at Ransome's grave and wandered through the woods to find the Dog's Home from The Picts and The Martyrs which is in Roger Wardle's book.

The following year I climbed Kanchenjunga with my daughter and a host of TARS members at the 2000 AGM. Seeing some of the locations is interesting and improves the books a bit but they are still wonderful without knowing the exact sites.
