And we should perhaps honour the PP gold miners by pointing out that
gold is still being found in Britain. Last month a 6.1 gram nugget,
the size of a pea, was found by panning a river in the well-known
gold-seeker's area around the villages of Leadhills and Wanlockhead in
southern Scotland. It was the biggest nugget found there for 60 years.
Incidentally Wanlockhead is also the highest village in Scotland.
