Forrest is eloquent, but I agree with your original statement rather than his.
Every editor/writer who has altered AR's work that I have observed has
messed up bigtime, Swallows and Amazons Forever is a prime example.
The problem is that no one else has AR's convictions, insights, and
understanding of childhood, freedom, and independence. Let his work
stand, be enjoyed, and inspire original works from other authors.
