Bembo is quite distinctive. My first reaction, on looking back at the books yesterday, was that the font was Bembo, except that it quite obviously wasn't. (Something to do with the feel of the print.)
Penguin Classics were always Bembo, at least in their early years. (There are too many now to check quickly!)
As I said earlier, the main way to distinguish Caslon and Bembo is the Qs and italics. Very different.
