As one of the few (two?) on this Forum who has actually been on a test voyage of Dan's new little ship, may I say that he is being quite modest!

Personally, the word christen has religious significance in being naming some one in a church baptism service which I don't think is Dan's intent. However I do know that the word has spread into the vernacular and can be used for naming anything.

However the traditional words for naming a ship are, from memory, "I name this ship *********, ......" The second half of the formula usually seems to be a suitable wish for the prosperity of the ship and crew, ofthe namer's choice.

Now I wonder who will guess Captain Dan's proposed AR related name!
