Since I am in the process of building an iceboat for my son, I will soon let you know. Unlike the popular and highly technical iceboats of today's northern lakes, I am working off a variety of drawings found on Inquiry.net and in various books by Ernest Thompson Seton, Daniel Beards, and others - in other words the kid's style ice boat of the turn of the century (I mean the turn of last century).

Since my son will be two in January and my wife wants to keep him around for awhile yet, I suppose I am really building this for me and will be able to provide first hand accounts of its success (I hope).

In the event that this doesn't work, I will try plan B, modeled after the D's.
