To both Peters - I can see where you are both coming from, and I had resisited joining the debate on this forum. Ransome wrote about what went on in villages in his childhood (as it did in mine). I am sure there are places to enter into discussion on the moral debate.
To Peter H - your comment did seem a bit all-encompassing I am afraid - apology accepted.
