We have spas in Central Victoria, and people do definitely immerse themselves in any one of a number of pools for the purpose. The water is also available bottled, both from the original spa and from factories which produce "spa" water to satisfy the demand. As I understand it, the Roman baths at Bath were of the "spa" type, so this practice is well established.
