Peter H - you won't be confused if you read the original posting at message 11508 which makes it clear that the boat's name is already known. What is the point? Well, it seems that some people enjoy the "guessing game", so what's wrong with a bit of fun? If it's not your taste then you don't have to join in, as you and others have pointed out about previous subjects. At least one can't accuse the discussion of being non-Ransomish.

Back to the fun stuff. Prue - you are certainly on the right track! The puffin, penguin, shag, seagull, cormorant angle is the correct one; now investigate more closely my interest in a certain kind of edition of the twelve books. Heavy clue here.

The dinghy arrived this afternoon and the restorers have done an excellent job considering that she was found lying in a pool of diesel fuel which had seeped into some of the timbers. She's not yet in full working order as the original sail is rotten and needs replacing. I also have to check the rigging and investigate buoyancy bags. She does look stunning for her age, however, (photos later, perhaps) and I do love the smell of new varnish!

Please keep the guesses coming in!
