One argument to support the concept of this book being a "made up" one, that is, one that is supposedly written by the children, is the presence of SWALLOW on the voyage.
This boat belonged to the Jacksons at Holly Howe. It was not Walker property. It would not have been allowed to go on any voyages on the other side of the world.
The same argument goes for Peter Duck, in that the SWALLOW was used there, away from the Holly Howe environment.
