In today's Lakeland Cam Tony talks about a gill - it looks like a creek to me. What is a gill?

Ghyll or Gill - from the Norse - gjel - large deep channel for a small brook - narrow valley

loads of stuff of me, elder and younger brother on broads and lakes etc.

Was the house a duplex

the one shown being built ? If that means semi detached - yup.

And I assume the young woman in the slides was your Mother.

guess so - Derbyshire/Cheshire/Lancashire rambler converted to a cyclist by my father.

I have always wondered where one got the plans for a Mirror dinghy?

think one could order a set from the Daily Mirror !
