Nice picture Jock, I wish I had been there. However if you do choose diesel power, you can expect the air vents to be become blocked by the local boskage.
I would have expected a man of your calibre to have hired steam engines (or have all the facilities like water cranes gone?, then the steam engines might have trimmed back the local flora by the age old method of fire pruning. This was well documented in PP to get the topic back to AR.
