In that the PD story was given a context in SD, even without reading "Their Own Story" as published in AR&CFT, it is a shame that AR never hinted at a context for ML - another winter on a wherry, or some other interesting location. I suppose having tried it and abandoned it once, leaving the references in SD to clarify PD's made-up nature, he didn't feel the need to bother at all with ML. Shame - the origins of the PD story in TOS add to the book, even if AR did not think so, and it would be great fun to read how the S&A's developed the ideas that went into ML. I don't suppose there could be another TOS lurking somewhere in AR's papers ?
