A certain railway (1) which used to serve the slate quarries (2) of North Wales closed in 1937.
Many years later, two societies had a fierce battle (3) over which should be allowed to rebuild
the railway, but now they have come to an accommodation (4). Anyway the project has not one,
but two discussion groups and a fierce moderator who come down heavily on anyone who
wanders away from the straight and narrow.

Thank you Ian for allowing us sometimes to wander and for welcoming back your prodigal sons.

AR connections: (1) railways, there are lots of railway references in the SA series; (2) slate quarries,
Slater Bob quarried slate in an old copper mine adit; (3) hostilities originally existed between
the Ss and As and Sa & As and Eels; (4)the Ss and As signed an offensive and defensive treaty,
while, to cement their friendship, the Ss, As and Eels mixed their blood.
