In my case from an advert in my company's in-house newsletter, but if you are interested in renting somewhere, there are a number of agencies that you can find by googling words like "Ontario cottage rental". I and some others, Ross?, can give yopu more advice on locations if you get really interested.

Prices range from Can$ 600-700 per week up to thousands of dollars per week depending on size, level of luxury and facilities and whether boats or other entertainment equipment are provided.

High season is July and August but the weather can be quite good well into September and the lake water is fine for swimming then. If you go a bit further north, you can usually catch the leaves starting to turn in late September and early October can be very beautiful, you understand where the red maple leaf on the Canadian flag came from.

Much earlier than June and you will have to suffer the dreaded Ontario blackfly. Here is the chorus from a song about the blackfly:

Black fly, the little black fly
always the black fly, no matter where you go
I'll die with the black fly pickin' my bones
in North Ontario
