Thanks for the comments. I will return to method B. The Cetol method.
The problem of course with a boat like the Mary Anne is you need to start painting her before all the thwarts are in so you can coat all those tight places well.
After working with white oak for ages, going to the mahongany is like working with putty, so light and easy to sand.
