Living north of Glasgow - and therefore some 150 miles north of Wildcat Island - the sun during the nights of the weeks around the summer solstice doesn't go lower than the definition of nautical twilight.
These White Nights feel as if it's just dipped under the horizon to the north, in order to skirt back to its dawn position. It is not, by any means, "under my feet" as it is during the long winter nights.
