I have often wondered to myself about the relative ages of the
'natives' in the Lake books.
If John is 11-ish and Mrs W married in her mid-20's, then she
would need to be mid to late 30's; presumably therefore Commander
Walker would be either late 30's or early 40's.
Molly Blackett would need to be around the same as Mrs W - maybe
a year or so older. Which would make CF, as her elder brother
quite close in age to Commander W - though they never meet! An
active early 40's might get up to all CF's tricks - but you would
need to take his baldness as hereditary!!
Has anybody else done a 'survey' of native ages?
