Roger is right, we ought to do something. I live even further away in the Midwest USA, but I have always supported restoration efforts, and contributed to the Mavis fund, Nancy Blackett, and the film Swallow.
I would gladly chip in for the Dogs Home if someone sets up a fund to do to. I photographed it in 2009 and shared my photos with Roger as well as speculations as to a former second floor. It is one of the 'real' places from the books and it deserves preservation and care. Someone needs to contact the Forestry Commission, to see what can be done to save the building.
