Unless lurking in the bottom corner of a cabinet at the Brotherton Library there exists a letter from AR saying, 'I based Beckfoot on Lanehead' we shall never actually know and I am happy that it is so. We have looked around and considered and theorised and still AR has kept his secret!
Putting it briefly, for me Pull Wood House is not a contender.
Glad that ART is at least having a look at the possibility. I know little of these things but I suspect that it will remain on the market for some time. Does it still have anything of the 'feel' of the house that was such a wonderful home to the Collingwoods, I wonder?
