A thought prompted by John Wilson's recent post about Morecambe Bay.
How many real place names are mentioned in the books?
Well, there are lots of overseas places, like Darien, China, Australia, Pernambuco, and San Francisco, but at present I'll confine the question to places in Britain.
We also have to exclude East Anglia, where a lot of real places are mentioned in the Broads books, WDMTGTS, SW, and even PD.
How many others? I'll start with London, Harrogate, Carlisle, Crewe and Glasgow.
