Thanks Jon, that's a good point, and it may well be the case that that's what some people do.
Reading the 'Most Recent Messages' clearly presents those messages chronologically, but, importantly, out of context. I don't really think my method of posting in context warrants changing because some people might deliberately choose to read new posts out of context.
My own method of going straight to TarBoard itself immediately shows (by colour) which are new posts, and also has them in context within their appropriate threads. That seems to me to be a more sensible way of tackling the matter.
However, while remaining unrepentant, I'll try to keep the Plethoric Peters in mind in future....
