This morning I was checking (for English) a projected speech by a friend who lives in a house, in the French hills near Geneva, in which at various times Richard Wagner and John Ruskin lived. It's a nice, special house in the village of Mornex. She's an active lively woman who's thrown herself into the Ruskin world. She's now been invited to become a fellow of a Ruskin society, and in her acceptance speech, she ends with a quote from W.G Collingwood.
Obviously, in her travels round the 'Ruskin trail', she's been to Brantwood, among other places. She's an old friend, was at school in Geneva with my wife and my sister. I've been many times to her house in Mornex, but hadn't associated it with the Lake District until now.
