Windmills can be warm in winter. I have been in Brill windmill in winter with frost on the ground and it has been warm inside without heating.
This windmill is a restored post mill, but unfortunately no longer able to turn to face the wind. However it has a creosoted timber cladding which acts a a black body radiator warming everything inside when the sun shines.
However the Horning mill is painted white and this may well reflect heat and be cooler in winter.
Other factors may be the closeness of the water providing a damp atmosphere for Horning, whilst Brill is high on the hill in a situation where there is a lot of cooling breeze to provide power to grind grain. Horning may be a pumping mill which needs less wind power to work.
